Edelweiss, the leisure carrier owned by Swiss International Air Lines, will operate seasonal flights between Zurich and San Diego from June 9 to Sept. 18.

A 314-passenger Airbus A340-300 will fly twice-weekly between the two cities. The plane is equipped with 27 lie-flat seats in business class. There are 76 Economy Max seats with six extra inches of legroom.

"San Diego and California are very popular among Swiss tourists," said Edelweiss CEO Bernd Bauer. "Our flights will bring approximately 7,000 visitors to San Diego in 2017."

In the U.S., Edelweiss also flies to Las Vegas and Tampa.
