Loews Hotels & Co. has appointed Alex Tisch to the role of president.

Tisch, who most recently served as the group's executive vice president of commercial and business development, will be the first to assume the role of president since Kirk Kinsell departed the company in October 2016.

In the role, Tisch will oversee operations, develop and execute on company strategy and manage capital and resource allocations, working closely with Loews Hotels & Co. chairman and CEO Jonathan Tisch and the rest of the Loews executive leadership team. He will also continue to lead the group's commercial, acquisitions and development unit, as well as the Loews Hotels at Universal Orlando Resort teams.

Loews Hotels & Co. owns or operates 26 hotels and resorts across the U.S. and Canada.

Tisch, who joined Loews Hotels & Co. in mid-2017, is Jonathan Tisch's first cousin once removed and represents the fourth generation of the Tisch family business.

He previously served as vice president for Loews Hotels' parent company Loews Corp., and prior to that, he worked at financial services group Credit Suisse, arranging leveraged buyout financings and handling M&A advisories.

"Being able to continue to shape the growth of Loews Hotels & Co., a company that my family began over seventy years ago is remarkably rewarding," he said in a statement. "I know the Loews culture will remain front and center as we navigate these challenging times and build toward a brighter future."
