The Travel Corporation plans to increase the company's
presence on the East Coast with a new Manhattan office set to open in early
2017.
The Travel Corporation -- owner of travel brands Trafalgar,
Insight Vacations, Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection, Contiki and
African Travel among others -- has long had U.S. offices in several locations
throughout Southern California.
"While we do have a small office in Rye, New York, for
the Insight Vacations and Luxury Gold brands, the majority of our
infrastructure and executive presence is on the West Coast with offices in
Anaheim, Glendale and Encino, California," CEO Brett Tollman said in a
statement. "After a strategic review of our businesses, we have identified
the need and opportunity to establish an additional sales office on the East
Coast because of increased demand for our brands."
Guy Young, who has had several executive positions at the Travel
Corporation, including having served as CEO of Uniworld, was recently promoted
to global brand engagement officer. Young has been tasked with overseeing the
eastern expansion and will work closely with the company's brands to identify
business opportunities, build stronger relationships and establish a larger
physical footprint on the East Coast.
The new office is slated to open early in the new year. The
Travel Corporation will hire additional sales managers to increase support for
travel agency outreach up and down the East Coast. Young will relocate
full-time to the East Coast next year.
The Travel Corporation also has offices in Toronto, London,
Geneva, Johannesburg, Singapore, Sydney and Auckland.
