Four cruise ships docked at St. Kitts' Port Zante simultaneously on Dec. 16 for the first time, two ships using the original pier, and two at the new second pier that opened last month.
Prime Minister Timothy Harris called the opening of the new pier a
milestone, and tourism
minister Lindsay Grant said that the second pier "will keep St. Kitts
high on the list of the cruise lines' top Caribbean ports of call."
While an arrival area is presently under construction for the second pier, cruise passengers use a concrete walkway to reach the Port Zante arrival hall.
The four ships were the Celebrity Summit and the Seabourn Odyssey at the new pier, and the Brittania and the Anthem of the Seas at the original pier.
