Trump International Hotel Waikiki unveiled several changes to its food and beverage program in 2017, and guests visiting this year will find an array of new options.
Most recently, in November the luxury property debuted a new, seafood-focused menu at Waiolu Ocean Cuisine, highlighting fresh catch including Kona Abalone, Moi and Pacific Threadfin.
"When we began thinking of a new concept for Waiolu Ocean Cuisine, we noticed that there was an abundance of great steakhouses in Honolulu, but found it a challenge to come up with seafood restaurants," said Bernie Caalim, marketing and communications director at Trump International Hotel Waikiki. "Our Executive Chef Shoji Namatame, who combined all his culinary skills gathered in Japan, Mexico, Bora Bora, Guam and Hawaii, did a fantastic job in creating the seafood menu."
Additionally, the hotel welcomed a new sushi bar to Waiolu Ocean Cuisine in mid-2017, offering both classic and inventive nigiri and maki items.
"We wanted to create an opportunity where customers know that they can enjoy high quality sushi as well as excellent customer service, all within a contemporary and relaxed setting where young children as well are welcomed to dine," Caalim said.
For guests who would rather stay in their suites than dine out, the hotel introduced a hands-on Japanese dining experience to its room service options.
The menu includes a chef's selection of seasonal Omakase sashimi, Japanese sushi rice, nori seaweed and condiments so guests can choose exactly the ingredients they want for a custom hand roll. The Japanese Experiential Dining Menu also includes a selection of nigiri sushi and a beef hot pot dinner with Angus ribeye, Napa cabbage, Hamakua mushrooms, Shirataki noodle, Yaki tofu, egg and udon noodle.
Outside of the food and beverage program, the hotel has introduced two new wedding packages for The Spa at Trump, which has a full menu of options including a selection of Hawaiian treatments using traditional Aloha State botanicals and healing techniques. The Blissful Beginnings Couples Massage is geared toward newlyweds seeking a relaxed start to marriage, including a private couples suite for $250 for 60 minutes or $375 for 90 minutes. The Spa at Trump Buyout Package is specially designed for the bride and her wedding party to enjoy an exclusive spa program prior to the wedding day. The package includes five 60-minute services, hors d' oeuvres, and private access to the entire spa for two hours form $1,250.
The Trump International Hotel Waikiki is the only Forbes Five-Star Property on Oahu, and guests can choose from a range of standard hotel rooms to three-bedroom suites. All of the rooms in the 38-story building feature ocean or Honolulu skyline views, and the amenities include an infinity pool, in-house surf school, 24-hour fitness center, and signature restaurant BLT Steak. Personal chefs and trainers are available, as well as the "Trump Attache" service, an on-call personal assistant.
"The hotel-condo concept is not new in Waikiki but Trump International Hotel Waikiki is the first to combine all the five-star services of a luxury hotel and the comforts and conveniences of a condo, and so guests are able to enjoy the best of both worlds simultaneously," Caalim said. "Having residential-style suites allow our guests to maintain their lifestyle while they are on vacation in Waikiki."
