Outrigger Hotels and Resorts will hold a ribbon-cutting to mark the rebranding and start of a renovation project at the Waikiki Beachcomber on Feb. 1.
The property, formerly known as the Holiday Inn Resort Waikiki Beachcomber, will now be known as the Waikiki Beachcomber by Outrigger.
The event will be marked by a traditional Hawaiian blessing, and will also launch a $25 million hotel renovation that will touch on guestrooms, meetings spaces, the lobby and other aspects of the property. The hotel will remain open during the renovations, which are planned in phases and expected to conclude late summer.
"Waikiki Beachcomber by Outrigger is an excellent value for guests looking to experience Outrigger's iconic Hawaiian hospitality and take advantage of the resort's modern accommodations and easygoing beach vibe," said Alan Naito, the hotel's general manager, in a statement. "The new guestroom design is spectacular; with renovations starting at the top floors first — we look forward to soon having this fresh inventory to share with our guests."
The Waikiki Beachcomber by Outrigger is a 496-room hotel on Kalakaua Avenue next to International Market Place and was purchased by Outrigger Hotels and Resorts in 2005.
