The first nonstop service between the U.S. and St. Vincent will launch March 14, when Caribbean Airlines starts operating a weekly flight between New York Kennedy and the new Argyle Airport.

Caribbean Airlines currently operates one-stop New York-St. Vincent service (the flight stops in Trinidad).

LIAT and Grenadine Airways serve St. Vincent on inter-Caribbean routes.

The $259 million Argyle Airport on the eastern side of St. Vincent opened in February 2017.

The solar-powered airport was hailed as a game-changer for the destination when it opened, due to the 9,000-foot runway capable of accommodating large aircraft.

The 171,000-square-foot terminal building can handle up to 1.5 million passengers a year.
