The Brilliant Lady, Virgin Voyages' fourth ship, arrived in New York on Tuesday in advance of its debut cruise on Friday, Sept. 5.

Its arrival was a musical one, said Virgin Group founder Richard Branson.

"After an epic voyage, suddenly the NYC skyline came into view," he wrote in a digital blog. "We climbed up to the top of the ship for a prime view as we passed the Statue of Liberty, and joined our brilliant crew and sailors to be serenaded with a unique New York medley -- Frank Sinatra, Alicia Keys, Jay-Z and Taylor Swift."

The Brilliant Lady will sail from the Manhattan Cruise Terminal to Bermuda and Canada through mid-October before repositioning to Miami.
