The Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego is undergoing a renovation that will be executed in phases through winter 2026. It will encompass all 1,628 guestrooms and suites, 320,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space, dining venues and recreational spaces.

General manager Dena Roady said the renovation will deliver an "elevated and modern atmosphere that celebrates our iconic bayfront setting."

The guestroom and suite transformation will unfold in two phases, with the Seaport Tower expected to be completed in winter 2025, followed by the Harbor Tower in summer 2026. Drawing inspiration from classic yacht design, each guestroom will showcase rich wood and subtle blue hues, according to the hotel.

Meeting and event spaces will undergo a complete redesign, anchored by the Harbor and Seaport ballrooms. The hotel plans to "blend sophisticated seaside design with next-generation technology, including enterprise-grade WiFi and integrated audiovisual systems." Pre-function and breakout spaces will evoke ocean waves with custom carpeting and lighting. Newly designed outdoor terraces will have panoramic bay views.

Signature dining venue Sally's will complete a renovation this March. The restaurant will have a reimagined open-air, waterfront concept and serve Baja Med-inspired cuisine from chef Alvaro Garcia. Menu items include grilled octopus, ceviche, fish tacos and a seafood tower.

On the hotel's 40th floor, Top of the Hyatt will close for renovations in late 2025. The bar is slated to reopen in early 2026.

The Grand Hyatt's recreational spaces will be renovated to offer an "elevated resort experience," said the hotel, and that includes the two rooftop pool decks overlooking the harbor and city skyline.

A full-service adult pool serving cocktails will debut on the third floor in winter 2025, followed by a reimagined family pool on the fourth floor in winter 2026. Enhanced facilities include updated sports courts and a redone fitness center by mid-2026.

The Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego is about a half-mile from the San Diego Convention Center.
