EF Go Ahead Tours will launch a new tour to commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day next year.

The 12-day 80th Anniversary of D-Day: American WWII History itinerary will take guests to destinations in England, France, Luxembourg and Belgium.

Guests can expect to attend special commemorative ceremonies as well as do museum visits, walking tours and visits to the beaches of Normandy. They'll also explore Paris and its World War II history.

Departures will coincide with D-Day, which commemorates the events of June 6, 1944.

D-Day is one of the names that refers to Operation Overlord, the codename for the Allied landings on the beaches of Normandy in France. D-Day served as a catalyst to the eventual liberation of German-occupied Western Europe in World War II.
