Pandemic response
Made $275 million commitment to aid hotel and destination marketing partners. The program included $250 million in marketing credits and financial relief for participating hotels and a $25 million fund for destination partners.
Strengthened liquidity by raising approximately $3.2 billion in new capital, consisting of a $1.2 billion private placement of perpetual preferred stock and about $2 billion in new debt financing. Also raised $500 million in three-year, unsecured senior notes and $750 million in seven-year unsecured senior notes.
Looking ahead
CEO Peter Kern said in Q4 there were some signs of modest improvement around the holidays that carried into the early part of 2021. "While the environment continues to be unpredictable, we remain keenly focused on reshaping and simplifying our business," he said.
